Where there's a will, there's a way...

Today I'd like to share a story with you. This is a story of two Club Scrap members on an important quest. A quest where two friends were determined to maintain a long-standing tradition in spite of several obstacles standing in their way.

It all started with an email, from Club member Sara Smith, to our infamous Rita:

Angel Blanchard and I have come to retreat for the past seven years and this year we were not able to make it so we decided to order the Retreat in a Box. Angel and I have a long scrapbooking weekend planned for October 25-28 and were wondering if our RIAB would be to us by then. Do you know yet when you'll be shipping out the RIAB?
Rita sent a reply, addressing the ladies' questions, telling them she was confident they'd receive their boxes in time. But unfortunately, Rita had to break the news to them that the live chat was scheduled for Monday, October 29, and the videos and instructions wouldn't be released until after that time. Not to be deterred, Sara once again pleaded her case:
Angel and I have been scouring our calendars trying to find a weekend we will be able to get together to maintain our tradition of annual CS Retreat. We're coming up empty until some time next summer. Is there any chance we could get the written instructions for the RIAB projects prior to next Thursday when we leave for our long scrapbooking weekend? We pinky swear that we won't tell a soul!  Please see the attached photo for proof.

Well, who could resist those faces? Rita shared Sara and Angel's story with Tricia. She agreed that this was one tradition that should go on, and so the written instructions were sent. The following week, Rita received an email filled with gratitude:
Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Angel and I had a great weekend at The Barn on the Bluff in Elkader, Iowa, and finished all of our wonderful CS projects. The Beaded Canvas and Oil Pastel workshops were our favorites. Attached are a couple of photos I thought you might enjoy.  Thanks again!  See you next year at retreat!

We are always awed when folks share stories about how Club Scrap brings people together. We are humbled and honored to be a small part of the traditions formed by our members and customers. Stories like this touch our hearts and make us proud to continue doing what we do.

Don't you just love happy endings?

Creatively yours,
Karen

  5. We REALLY hated missing retreat this year. Retreat in a box was the next best thing (and we LOVED every part of it!), but we are already looking forward to Wisconsin in August 2013!
