A Thank You for our Heroes

http://operationwritehome.org/starsandstamps/

Welcome OWH Blog Hoppers! Card makers love a good sketch, and Operation Write Home offers tons of inspiration in that area. There are so many great sketches...over 171 of them! There's just one problem...when I create each of the sketch elements from full sheets of cardstock, I end up with a LOT of scraps.

Tricia Morris, owner of Club Scrap, has blended her mad Assembly Line Cardmaking skills with several of OWH's awesome sketches and voila! No more scraps! With her card making method, you can whip up a nice l'il batch of cards using your fave sketch, with little to no waste. (I've compiled links to most of the formulas she's created in a blog post HERE.)

Back in October, my pal, Ron, followed Tricia's lead and created cutting diagrams and instructions for OWH Sketch #2 and #18...resulting in eight awesome cards.

OWH Sketch #2
OWH Sketch #18

Using Ron's instructions, I created the cards below. The formula made preparing the card elements a breeze, leaving me more time for the fun part...decorating! I grabbed my Military Unmounted Rubber stamps, along with papers from my Equestrian Club Stamp kit, and got busy.

The papers from the Equestrian collection reminded me of military colors, and I love that they are coordinated for me...so no guess work!

Of course I'll donate these cards to Operation Write Home, but instead of just sending them "as is", I'm going to use them as Any Hero cards. We're having a family cookout on Memorial Day, and I'm going to ask each of my guests to write a message to a Hero in one of the cards. It's so important our servicemen and women know how much we appreciate them!

Want to make some Any Hero cards like mine? Leave a comment below to qualify for a random drawing for one sheet of the awesome Military Unmounted Stamps. The winner will be announced here in the comments section, on Friday, May 31.
(Be sure to include your email address if you're not already in the Club Scrap database, so we can contact you!)
