On yesterday's post, I shared two stencil techniques for the Big Deal Lite stencil. Are you ready for two more? (If you followed the preparation steps outlined in yesterday's post, you should still have one black and one white panel left.)
Ombre Ink Technique
1. Use a foam tip applicator and dye inks to add a variety of color to the painted black panel.
2. Rubber stamp the panel with India Black Ink and small text image.

Gelato Baby Wipe Color Infusion
1. Color the white paint on white panel with Faber-Castell Gelatos.
2. Activate and spread color with a water brush.
3. Use a moist baby wipe to remove excess color from the painted stenciled shapes.

I hope you enjoyed all four of the stenciled background techniques. Which one do you think you'll try first? Leave me a comment below!
Enjoy,

So very awesome and a very bright and colorful way to start the day. thank you so much Kay.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I can choose! I'm going to have to try all of these techniques out at once!
ReplyDeleteCan't decide but I love the black and white with the little text on it from yesterday ;)
ReplyDeleteLove them all Kay, but I love the bright bold colors of the Ombre ink technique. So fun!
ReplyDeleteMore wonderful techniques with that stencil (and I had to have it!). .Great cards.
ReplyDeleteI amgoing to give it a try.
I think I'll try them all, but the Ombre is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI love these techniques and the stencil. Since I have two bridge groups, I have lots of people who will love the things I can do with this kit.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. What other stamp sets besides the Up, Up and Away UM have small text that we could use?
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, I loved the script stamp from Collections, there was also one in Bold Blooms too. Those are two off the top of my head. Also we had a phonebook type stamp with Gimme a Ring I believe.
DeleteA few I can think of at the moment: Bookshelves "book" definition stamp (B&B UM), Bon Appetit "menu" script, just the portion below the word "Menu" (CST UM), Wild Flowers smudged script (B&B UM), and one stamp I use to create backgrounds constantly, is the script stamp from Poetic.
DeleteKaren, good ones, it wasn't Bold Blooms, but Wild Flowers I was thinking of.
DeleteAlso Memoirs, Orient Express, & Expressions
Comfort Zone and Orient Express Art Nouveau stamps are perfect choices and they are both for sale in the outlet!
DeleteThank you! I will check to see which ones I have. I am pretty sure I have Bookshelves B&B and several stamps from Expressions and Memoirs. And Wild Flowers. Oh, and Comfort Zone. I should be able to find something!
DeleteI like the gelatos with baby wipes. I can't wait to try that one.
ReplyDeleteWow - might just have to try them all together!
ReplyDeleteGlad you all may be enjoying these Big Deal Stencil techniques as much as I do :)
ReplyDeleteI made some of these backgrounds today. My first attempt went in the trash. I had way too much paint bleeding. After spraying the back of my stencil with adhesive, it worked great. I love the look and I can't wait until they dry so I can finish them up. Thanks, Kay!
