Did you know each year the first Saturday in May is (inter)National Scrapbooking Day? And since a day isn't enough, May is also National Scrapbooking Month! Let's continue the celebration . . .
In Challenge 1 you were asked to follow instructions to create your own Passport to Fun project. Thank you for your participation!
This is your next challenge: Find a Club Scrap Creates blog entry that has inspired you, and use it to create your own artwork. Over the years our contributing bloggers have shared projects, techniques, card formulas and more. We all have that post that left us thinking, "I can't wait to try that someday." Someday has arrived!
Once your artwork is completed, photograph and share it using the Linky Tool below. Add a comment in the "Comments" section sharing the link from the Club Scrap Creates Blog that inspired your artwork and your "Linky" number. You'll have two weeks share what you've created for a chance at some really cool prizes.
Julie has provided a sample in Linky #1 and what should be included in the comments field below.
Since we are such social creatures, it wouldn't be the same without a place to chat! Julie has set up a thread at the Coffeehouse Forum. It's the perfect place to brainstorm ideas, ask questions and wax poetic about your Club Scrap Creates inspired artwork.
This NSD challenge starts today at 10am Central. Post your finished artwork using the Linky Tool through Friday, May 30 at 11:55pm Central. Julie will announce the giveaway winner(s) in a blog post on Saturday May 31. Have fun, and good luck!
Oh wow, what a great opportunity to actually get a project crossed off my must make list! Now to decide which project :)
ReplyDeleteI was inspired by the CS Creates blog post where Hetty shared a Gesso Technique.
ReplyDeleteFor my cards I used the same technique to apply the Gesso, but then added colors with Gelatos, Neon Ink Dabbers and Sapphire Hybrid Ink.

What to do? What to do? What to do?
ReplyDeleteI was inspired by Tricia's Fly Out Mini Book on CS Create. I chose to do mine in the trees collection and to tie the bow on the side. This project was really fun and easy..

Wonderful job on this Ruby!! I really like how you switched up the tie and put it along the side. I am heading to Tricia's post right now. Love this challenge!
DeleteRuby, your little book is delightful! The Trees collection goes so perfect with it.
DeleteWhen I saw the Dungarees layout card, I knew I had to use it for these photos which were already on my desk. I had even selected Pure & Simple as the kit to use to scrap them, but I wasn't sure exactly what to do with them. I love the fact that this layout sketch can be adapted for using a 5" x 7" photo.
ReplyDeleteI also really want to do the fly-out mini book, but I had to get this set of photos scrapped first.

Ruth Ann, how perfect! The photos are adorable and the layout sketch worked beautifully!
DeleteI was inspired by a card that Karen made in December 2012.

Three more cards can be seen on my blog. http://carpe-memoria.blogspot.com/2014/05/inspiration-from-inspiration.html
Love this challenge! I had so much fun looking through the blog entries--there is a wealth of creativity here!!
I was immediately inspired by Julie's post on 5/19. I loved her daughter's quilt and tried to think of a way to make a flower quilted card. Then I thought of our pattern basics paper and while this is not flowers it is close enough. The basic card is all Hydrangea paper and the pattern basic is from the brights selection. http://clubscrapcreates.blogspot.com/2014/05/rag-quilt-technique-and-free-sketch.html
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Arlene, you used my favorite papers to create your quilt. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Julie!
DeleteI was inspired by several sources for this Memorial Day card. I just returned from the OWL Blog Hop after seeing Ron's tutorial for the Digital Squared card for Dungarees. I decided to go with the Salute theme. It's much easier to do than it looks! Don't be scared off by all the squares. Easy Peasy as Jac would say!

Lisa, I LOVE IT!!
DeleteI went back through the blog and found a fun project that fit perfectly with my creation for this month's blog hop. I found Julie's Envelope Punch Board Shadow Box and the nifty little boxes she made for inside... http://clubscrapcreates.blogspot.com/2014/01/envelope-punch-board-shadow-box-book.html
ReplyDeleteI made a vintage suitcase out of the Dungarees kit and it needed a little something inside and one of these boxes was perfect! (#12).
Thanks for the fun challenge!
RONI!!! I love it! I am so doing this!! thanks for the inspiration.. on top of inspiration!!
DeleteI loved the cards that Kay made with the inchie squares out of the Dungarees kit. While working on my digi layouts for the blog hop I was thinking about how I always wore bandanas with my jeans.

Ann, love this!
DeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteMine is link #14. I was inspired by Ref Lisa's 4/21 Hydrangeas GTG Guest Artist post. I used Birds of a Feather papers on mine.
