There was such a great response to my Hydrangeas blog hop project we thought it would be fun to create a challenge around it. We've "unlocked" the previously private links to the instructions and video tutorial for the Passport to Fun (Retreat 2012) project so I can share it with you!
The "original" Retreat 2012 Passport to Fun mini album. |
Once your project is completed, photograph and share it using the Linky Tool below. Add a comment in the "Comments" section below, sharing a brief description about your book and which number "Linky" you are. You'll have two weeks to make and share your project for a chance at some really cool prizes.
And since we are all such social creatures, it wouldn't be the same without a place to chat, right? Julie has set up a chat thread over at the Coffeehouse Forum for just such an occasion. It's the perfect place to brainstorm ideas, ask questions and wax poetic about your Passport to Fun-inspired mini albums.
This NSD challenge starts today at 10am Central. Post your finished project using the Linky Tool through Friday, May 16 at 11:55pm Central. Julie will announce the giveaway winner(s) in her blog post on Monday, May 19. Have fun and good luck!
Creatively yours,
Karen
Karen, thank you for unlocking the instructions! This is such a cool book!
ReplyDeleteI am just so excited to see how we all create this same book! How fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget you can come over to the Coffeehouse to chat about it with me :)
What fun! I'm off to dig through my papers right now!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun challenge! I am glad it doesn't have to be finished today :-))
ReplyDeleteI'm bummed, I have to work till 5 pm tonight. Luckily I get to use my laptop to keep updated on posts everyone makes throughout the day.
ReplyDeleteLaurie, you can participate in the challenge through May 16, so there's still time! I hope you'll play along...
DeleteI've been digging into my 2013 RIAB, trying to get some projects done. Now I will go find the 2012 box instead! LOL
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to finish the original project and make a few extras anyway, so this will be a good project! Hmmm, I still have some Mother's Day paper and embellies from a year or two ago....

ReplyDeleteYou did an amazing job!! This is awesome and the ribbon closure worked perfectly!
DeleteMy Passport to Fun is Linky numbers 1 and 2. I used papers from Lord & Lady from February, 2003. These were not my favorite kits, but I think they look great in this project. I didn't have any D rings, so I simply used a tied ribbon to close the book.
DeleteMy two passports are in photo #4. I made them a little different but did not decorate or finish off ... waiting to see what I use them for.
ReplyDeleteGreat Lucy!! Love what you have done with your Passports!!
ReplyDeleteI've added my passport albums... Photo #6. The first album is made from A6 size envelopes and uses papers from the Hopes kit. The second album is made from 5.25" square envelopes and uses the "Fire" side of the Fire & Ice kit. Both albums are up for grabs on my blog! Simply leave a comment to be entered to win.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun challenge!!
Roni yours are all fabulous!! thanks for sharing and joining in the fun!!
DeleteGreat versions, Roni!
Deletekissed everything because I was checking the forum not the blog!
ReplyDeleteHi All! I have finally posted my 2 Passports to Fun, I am #8. If you click on my Linky you will head to my blog where I have more details!
ReplyDeleteHi all. My project is #10. I used all hydrangea paper, blue with purple mats. Then for the front cover, I know it's hard to see but I matched the 2 pieces of Hydrangea yellow print. Then I topped it off with light green sheer ribbon.

ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteHi. My Linky is number 9. I used papers from the Spring Chorus kit. I think the papers were a great match for the Olde Dover Days photos of my niece. I learned 3 things while creating this project. Learn from my mistakes!!! One - embroidery floss is not a good substitute for the waxed linen thread. I did not have any on hand at the hotel. Next time I am in a pinch I will try dental floss instead. Second, I only had the A2 sized envelops from Office Depot on hand. They are not that thick. It would have been a good idea to reinforce the flaps with either washi tape or cardstock. Finally, The project would have looked better if I had cut my papers to A2 size - not the size of the envelop itself.
ReplyDeleteMy entry is number 9. I used papers from the Spring Chorus collection. I learned several things while completing this project. Number one - Not all envelops are created equal. The envelops we used at retreat were better quality than the ones I picked up at the Office Depot near my hotel. I would have been wise to have reinforced the folds on the flaps with washi tape or some strips of cardstock. Number two - Cut your cardstock photo mats to the size of the card that would fit into your envelope, NOT the exact size of the envelop. (Obviously I was creating in my hotel room late at night. Not that there was any wine involved or anything.) And finally, embroidery floss is not the best substitute for the waxed linen recommended. Next time I will try dental floss in a pinch.
ReplyDeleteMine is #11. I used Come Sail Away papers. I'll add a title on the green panel once I'm sure how I'm going to use it.
