There was such a great response to my Hydrangeas blog hop project we thought it would be fun to create a challenge around it. We've "unlocked" the previously private links to the instructions and video tutorial for the Passport to Fun (Retreat 2012) project so I can share it with you!

Once your project is completed, photograph and share it using the Linky Tool below. Add a comment in the "Comments" section below, sharing a brief description about your book and which number "Linky" you are. You'll have two weeks to make and share your project for a chance at some really cool prizes.
And since we are all such social creatures, it wouldn't be the same without a place to chat, right? Julie has set up a chat thread over at the Coffeehouse Forum for just such an occasion. It's the perfect place to brainstorm ideas, ask questions and wax poetic about your Passport to Fun-inspired mini albums.

ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to finish the original project and make a few extras anyway, so this will be a good project! Hmmm, I still have some Mother's Day paper and embellies from a year or two ago....

DeleteMy Passport to Fun is Linky numbers 1 and 2. I used papers from Lord & Lady from February, 2003. These were not my favorite kits, but I think they look great in this project. I didn't have any D rings, so I simply used a tied ribbon to close the book.
DeleteMy two passports are in photo #4. I made them a little different but did not decorate or finish off ... waiting to see what I use them for.

ReplyDeleteI've added my passport albums... Photo #6. The first album is made from A6 size envelopes and uses papers from the Hopes kit. The second album is made from 5.25" square envelopes and uses the "Fire" side of the Fire & Ice kit. Both albums are up for grabs on my blog! Simply leave a comment to be entered to win.

ReplyDeleteHi all. My project is #10. I used all hydrangea paper, blue with purple mats. Then for the front cover, I know it's hard to see but I matched the 2 pieces of Hydrangea yellow print. Then I topped it off with light green sheer ribbon.

ReplyDeleteHi. My Linky is number 9. I used papers from the Spring Chorus kit. I think the papers were a great match for the Olde Dover Days photos of my niece. I learned 3 things while creating this project. Learn from my mistakes!!! One - embroidery floss is not a good substitute for the waxed linen thread. I did not have any on hand at the hotel. Next time I am in a pinch I will try dental floss instead. Second, I only had the A2 sized envelops from Office Depot on hand. They are not that thick. It would have been a good idea to reinforce the flaps with either washi tape or cardstock. Finally, The project would have looked better if I had cut my papers to A2 size - not the size of the envelop itself.

The envelops we used at retreat were better quality than the ones I picked up at the Office Depot near my hotel. Number two - Cut your cardstock photo mats to the size of the card that would fit into your envelope, NOT the exact size of the envelop. (Obviously I was creating in my hotel room late at night.
