Hoedown Mini Album

 Hello!

My name is Vicki, and I blog about life and crafts and other fun over at Joyful Whimsy.  I am completely excited about blogging here today!  (Thanks, Tricia!!)  I did a little happy dance when the box of Club Scrap goodies arrived on my front porch last week.  Tricia had seen the "Heimbach Hoedown" pictures on my blog and picked out a bunch of supplies she thought would work well with the photos:
I knew right away I wanted to make a mini album to send to my brothers, who hosted the super-fun event. I love making mini albums!  You can see a few examples here, here, and here.  I grabbed a couple extra items to add to what Tricia sent me, including some additional Club Scrap paper, die cuts and brads, and I was good-to-go:
The front cover (top photo) features the invite, which I completely adore (my sister designed it!).  I incorporated some burlap which was left over from the centerpieces I made for the party (see below).  I also used a bit of vintage rick-rack (I love rick-rack, don't you?).  I used some of that fabulous embossed belt buckle paper on the inside cover and printed out a revised copy of the blog I wrote after the party.  I used the super-cute Club Scrap screw stamp to decorate around the blog.
On the next page I made a simple collage.  I am a big fan of mixed-media collages. You can check out a couple of my collages here and here.  I love the fun belt stamp at the bottom.  On the next page I added an adorable photo of Tommy.
I took a million pictures at the Hoedown.  It was so much fun capturing all the joy of that day.  The hardest part of making this mini album was trying to decide which pictures to include.
I love this happy green Club Scrap paper.  In fact, I love all of their card stock--the colors are so saturated.
I decided to make a photo pocket so I could include more photos of the dancing.  I fastened the pocket on with some Club Scrap brads.
I loved the sheet of old-fashioned ad transparencies Club Scrap sent me.  Don't they look great on the right-hand page:
I made an additional photo pocket at the end of the book so I could include the rest of the extra pictures. I used more of that embossed belt paper because it's just that awesome:
And again on the back cover:
And that's that! A cute (but not too girlie) mini album to send off to my brothers.  I hope it reminds them of all the fun we had at the big Hoedown!

Thanks again, Tricia, for sending me the box of Club Scrap fun, and for asking me to guest blog here today!

XO,

Vicki
