Re-use, Recycle...Storage!

In the spirit of today's Daily Creative Challenge for National Scrapbook Month, I thought I'd share some fun re-use/recycle storage ideas I've come across. As I may have mentioned before, I'm loving addicted to Pinterest, so I get loads of ideas from there.

With "upcycling" in mind, here are some awesome storage options from re-purposed materials...

The first, is a divided lazy susan tray. How handy would that be on your work table?

Antique Mason jars are all the rage right now. Why not combine a large jar with some vintage clothes pins for pretty ribbon/fiber storage?

Storing all those tiny bits and bobs, like mini brads and eyelets can be a headache. Did I say headache? What about using an old pill box for storage? Problem solved!

Cupcake stands also seem to be pretty popular, but let's face it, how often are you gonna use it? Instead of storing yours away, put it to work storing your craft supplies. Just add some cute little bowls and you're in business!

So there ya have it. Four totally fun, and functional, storage ideas for re-purposing items from around the house. Do you have a storage idea you'd like to share? Leave a comment below!

Creatively yours,
Karen

  1. Love pinterest for all the fun ideas! Thanks for sharing Karen, these are very fun and I use the jars for buttons and ribbons on my crafting table.
I also made a fun toilet paper roll pencil holder and it is in the gallery I think. :)

  2. Great ideas Karen - I actually buy the pill boxes in the dollar store (cheaper than the craft store and exactly the same).

  3. I went to a church rummage sale last year and bought a box full of clear acrylic boxes. The lady at the check out table said they were hers & they were the display boxes she used for her collection of Beanie Babies! (remember them? Thankfully I did not get into collecting them!) So if you were a Beanie Baby collector & displayed them in those boxes ----- give thos ecritters a new home & use those boxes. Oh --- almost forgot ---- I have my collection of Spectrum Noir markers in a few of them. Holds 25 markers. They would probably work for someone who has a more manageable collection of ribbon & fibers than I do. LOL!

  4. I use photo boxes and leftover mandarin orange crates for holding handmade cards and my POPs (pounds of paper, for newbies). if you sell your handmade cards, they look beautiful in those crates as well!
