Wrap It Up!

Hi everyone! Ron from Club Scrap here with another last minute Christmas idea - last week you'll remember that I was busy working on my Christmas cards. I'm happy to report that those are done and finally in the mail! So this week, I'm wrapping a few gifts. I only have a few gifts to wrap this year, but I wanted to make sure that they look nice and sort of match my Christmas cards (hey, I'm a paper crafter and those things are important to me - but then, I really don't have to explain that to you folks, right?!?!). This idea will work for Christmas, or any other time that you need to wrap a gift quickly!

So first up, home-made gift tags - really easy with a sheet of CS paper, a pair of scissors and a hole punch! I used a sheet of Full Circle Green, but any color will do, really. Here's how I cut my tags:

These tags are 1.5x3, so you can get 32 from 1 sheet of 12x12 with no waste! Start by cutting a 12x12 at 9, 6 and 3. Then stack 2 strips and cut at 10½, 9, 7½, 6, 4½, 3, and 1½. Repeat with the other 2 stacked strips. Quick as a wink, 32 rectangles!

Once you've got all the tags cut, use your scissors to cut the corners off of 2 edges so that it resembles a manilla tag - don't fret over it being perfect, these are small enough to just 'eyeball' the cut. Next, punch a hole in the tag.

I stamped a snowflake on the tag (making sure to stamp partially off the tag, just for interest), using the CS Pigment White ink pad.

To wrap my gifts, I decided on plain brown kraft paper this year - it matches my cards and I really like the look - I buy it by the roll at the office store and use it as wrapping paper all the time! For ribbon, I went to my trusty baker's twine - just enough of a holiday look for me, but really - grosgrain, satin, twine, raffia, yarn - they all work and I've used them at various times in the past. The kraft paper really goes with anything - one of the reasons it's my 'go to' wrapping paper in a pinch!

And here's the finished gift - simple, but elegant, I think!

Okay, it's time for another "12 Days of Giveaways!" We'll give away a Club kit to one lucky winner, chosen at random, from those who write comments on today's post, through midnight (CS/Central time), each day.

Today's prize is a Bon Appetit Club Stamp Kit with Project. To qualify for this giveaway, simply leave a comment below, by midnight tonight (Thursday, Dec. 20th). A winner will be chosen at random and will be announced here tomorrow morning.

Now go and create something wonderful - then wrap it up and give it to someone you love! Happy Holidays!!!
