Roll Out The Candles Tutorial

Roll out the birthday candles with our Picnic Club Stamp print!

As seen on Pinterest, this fun candle birthday card was a snap to make using the Picnic Club Stamp Text Weight Print and string from the Embellishment Pack.

Follow these steps to make your candles.

1. Cut 2x3" rectangles from the text weight print. Trim as many rectangles as you would like. (I rolled seven candles.) Start rolling on the 2" edge.

2. Tighten the paper roll to birthday cake candle width.

3. Brush glue onto the edge of the paper roll and seal to make a cylinder.

4. Cut a 3/4" length of string. Dab glue into one end of the candle roll.

5. Insert the wick into the candle.

6. Stamp a sentiment onto the lower center of a card panel. Starting from the center and working outward, adhere the candles to the panel with Bookbinding Glue.

7. Matte onto card base, embellish, and enjoy giving this card to someone that appreciates fun birthdays!

Roll out the birthday candles for your next handmade card creation. No matches or calories involved!

Club Stamp Squared

The Dungarees Club Stamp Kit shipped yesterday, and I always get so excited about using the quad print included in the paper pack!

Dungarees Club Stamp Paper Pack with Quad Print

Let's make some fun cards . . .

1. Cut a few rows of the text weight quad print into 1" squares. (Save the rest of the sheet for other decorative uses.)

2. Cut two Dungarees Garment Repair Tags and other coordinating scraps into 1" squares for added interest.

3. Cut a 4.5x6.5" Dark Blue panel and attach squares 1/4" from the outside edge.

4. Trim a 2x4" piece of Kraft plain and stamp with a sentiment; apply Sapphire ink to the outside edges.

5. Attach the Happy Birthday greeting with foam squares.

6. Oops, I almost forgot to add this! Tint the Dungarees Woven Clothing Tags with Sandstone Ink and attach just beneath the greeting.

7. If you've placed the tag string holes in a suitable position, tie the strings together. If not, remove strings. That was a happy coincidence for me!

8. Layer the decorated panel onto a 5x7" card.

Next, check out this fun white-washed card using squares for the base panel.

1. Fill a 4.5x6.5" Dark Blue panel with 1" squares.

2. Add water to thin acrylic paint and color-wash the panel with a foam brush.

3. Wipe away extra moisture.

4. Add acrylic paint wash to fibers or any other embellishments.

5. Stamp, matte and color-wash a sentiment. Allow to dry under a book or weight if squares pull up away from card matte.

6. Further embellish the panel with Club Stamp Buttons and Burlap String and layer onto a 5x7" card.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the Dungarees Club Stamp Kit!

From The Dungarees Gallery

Now that the rustic Dungarees Kit has finally shipped, it's scrapbooking and card making time!

The minute Tricia got the collection in her hands, she assembled this two-page spread by following this month's layout card. (Members, don't forget to download!) I like the groupings of photos on both pages. So cute!

Even though the collection seems more well-inclined to the guys, I made quick work of creating this layout of me and my girl. The Dark Blue cutapart strips were printed with metallic silver ink and look so cool on my beach-themed page.

I used the little bib overalls from the Greeting UM to make this tiny folded card.

1. Stamp the bib overalls image with Sapphire ink and score along the left edge.

2. Fold on the score and trim along the outside edges of the stamped image, leaving the fold in tact.

3. Stamp "you're the best!" and attach to the front; add "overall" to the inside of the folded piece.

Here are a few more cards created with the Greeting UM . . .

This month's font is just made for coloring!

If you can locate the White Souffle Pen included in your Graffiti Lite kit, it's a wonderful way to add faux stitching to your project and accents to the fill-in font. The images on the cards below were stamped with the Collection UM.

I can't wait to send these cards to my gardening pals. These were created with the Art Nouveau UM.

To create a dimensional look, cut out the stamped pockets and flaps and attach to the card panel with foam adhesive.

Use the images from the Borders & Backgrounds UM to make this adorable pocket card. Stamp and trim out the large pocket image and tuck a message behind it. What a clever way to gift movie or game tickets and gift certificates. And remember that cash is always welcome!

I'm sure you'll want to get started on creating your own projects for the Dungarees gallery the moment this collection arrives at your door!
