Bright Lights, Big City JR Spoiler!

Happy Monday, everyone! Today is JR shipping day, and I couldn't wait to share the Bright Lights, Big City JR ALSB pages with you. I took time yesterday to finish up a few of the pages with photos and journaling. I can't believe how quickly they came together.

I just love how colorful this collection is...I mean, the pages really do go with almost anything! Here are pages 1 & 2 with some photos from 2012 Retreat:

The title strip on pages 3 & 4 had the perfect sentiment for these photos of my oldest son, Hunter, and his "baby". Last year he took a Parents and Family class, and each student had to bring home one of the computer-programmed infants to care for over a 4 day period. I was so proud of how responsible Hunter was with his baby. Some of Hunter's classmates thought it was a joke to have a "robot baby", but Hunter took the task very seriously. Even "Auntie Emma" and "Uncle Max" got in on the act and took turns babysitting. I just had to capture these photos of the kids with "baby Simon". Don't the colors in the photos go perfectly with the BLBC collection?

Finally, I've been meaning to scrap these photos from our 2011 (yep, last year's) Halloween Party for quite a while now. Turns out the BLBC papers were an awesome compliment for all of my guests' colorful costumes!

You gotta love the JR kit and the fact that it's "all inclusive". I simply grabbed the kit, along with my adhesive and trimmer, and in about an hour the ALSB pages were done and ready for photos. In another 30 minutes, the pages had photos and journaling. As a busy wife, mom, and CS employee, ya gotta love the fact that you can get eight scrapbook pages COMPLETELY done in under 2 hours. Talk about a sense of accomplishment!

Fun Fact: Did you know that a Club Scrap JR membership is only $365 a year? (That's including shipping and handling folks!) That means as a JR member, you'll create 96 scrapbook pages a year, for only about $1 per day. What an amazing value!

Today is also Day Six of Club Scrap Creates "12 Days of Giveaways"! Today's prize is an Orient Express JR kit. To qualify for the drawing, leave a comment below no later than midnight tonight (CS/Central time). Tomorrow I'll randomly draw one name from the list of those who commented, and that lucky person will receive this awesome kit for FREE! Good luck!

Creatively yours,
Karen

  3. I love getting pages done quickly. But the main thing I love about the kits is that I don't have to be creative. The creativity is already done for me. What I like to do is complete the kits without pictures, then when I get a bunch of kits done, I pull out a bunch of pictures and then pull out the completed pages that will go with those pictures. I go to a weekend crop once or twice a year, and just add pictures to completed pages. I usually come home with 7 to 10 completed albums in that weekend. I love the sense of accomplishment without having to be creative. And when I show off my albums, everyone oohs and aahs at the beautiful pages.

  11. Great idea for using multiple pictures with a number legend and good way to use up the miscellaneous number stickers that seem to accumulate.

  19. Love the layouts Karen. I wonder how my boys would have handled having a "baby" to care for, such as your son did??? Interesting thought.

    1. Believe me, (I hate to say it) no one was more surprised than I at how well Hunter did with the responsibility...he's usually such a "boy"...know what I mean? Very proud of him!

  20. Hi Karen,

Thanks for sharing the sneak peak. My son had to watch an "egg" instead of a robot baby. He did a good job as well!

    Merry Christmas!

  21. Hi Karen,
This is why I love CS so much. Even tho the theme is Bright Lights, Big City, you showed us how versatile the kits are. I am a huge fan of ALSB and I think I am like Rita-I have hundreds of pages done and just waiting for the "perfect Photos".
    Thanks,
    Marian Biegel

  26. Great layouts. One thing I miss that was in the older scrap raps are the completed layouts from the prior months kit. Sometimes I just need a little help thinking what would go with a kit other than the obvious.

  27. I subscribed to Jr. back when it was first added... and was 8.5x11 paper... and I was doing 8.5x11 scrapping.... so of course I kept getting it (so I could keep getting more paper and goodies) when the paper grew... because by then I was doing 12x12 layouts... and it's definitely worth the $1 per day!!

Can't wait to get my Jr. box... then I'll scrap my work San Antonio trip... I snapped some Bright Lights/Big City photos!! not often I get to see a night city skyline... and it was a fun trip - so the fun paper will set it off nicely!
