Happy Thursday, Everyone!
Have you seen the new Aspen Digital Kit yet? It’s just stunning!
If you’re a digital member, you may have noticed a couple of enhancements to the kit this month. In the past, all of the stamp images were delivered as individual PNG files, but from now on, they’ll be consolidated into a few ‘sheets’ of images. This month there are 3 files, but the actual number may vary by collection, depending on the size and shape of the images.
These sheets of images have a few benefits:
1. All the images have a bit of extra ‘air’ or space around them, so you can select a single image with the marquee tool. This is usually easier than using the lasso tool to select an item.
2. All the quotes and images are grouped together on separate sheets, making it easier to find the perfect sentiment or image for your layout or card. I don’t know about you, but I used to hate going through 15 or 20 separate files, just to find the right quote or image!
3. These files are designed to fit on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper, so you can print out a full sheet on CS kit paper. This is ideal if you want to do some hybrid scrapping or card making - each image should have at least 1/8 inch ‘air’ around it, so after printing, just grab your cutting mat, craft knife and ruler and create some tags. Layer them with coordinating paper and add them to your paper scrapbooks and cards. Easy-Peasy!
The new Digital Stamp files are easy to print out for hybrid use! |
In addition to the enhancements to the stamp image files, there’s an extra Alpha file in the kit now, too. You’ll still get the individual PNG files for use on your layouts, but there’s also an 8.5x11 sheet with a background already in place. You can print this out and cut it up for some hybrid fun, or you can use the marquee tool to select individual letters for your digital layouts - it’s like getting 2 different Alphas in each kit now!
The new Alpha file can be used digitally or as a hybrid printout! |
I hope you enjoy these changes we’ve made to the digital kit - whether you’re a digital scrapper or a hybrid fan (or both!), these enhancements should make using your kit much easier!
Wait, you're not a Digital Member yet? What are you waiting for? Join now!
See you next week!

My favorite tool is my paper trimmer.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I can;t imagine picking one tool, I would say it all starts with the paper, and CS has the best!
ReplyDeleteI do keep close at hand a corner rounder punch.
ReplyDeleteMy atg runner. Where would we all be without adhesive???
ReplyDeletepat-czap
Love my ATG gun and paper trimmers
ReplyDeleteLove your tuts, Ron
After the "obvious" ones, I'd choose my Perfect Layers.
ReplyDeleteI can't live without my ATG gun and my fiskars paper trimmer and scissors.
ReplyDeleteATG gun and tonic paper cutter.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say my paper trimmer. The two of us go back many years! :) Love the workbench kit. It was before my membership, but every time I go to retreat or there's a sale on paper, I buy some. Love it. (buechs)
ReplyDeleteAnother one for my ATG gun! I would also throw in my iPhone/Kindle Fire. I use those all the time to take pictures, scour Pinterest for inspiration, and download my ALSB to take on the road!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...favorite tool?? I would have to say my Cuttlebug. I use that a lot.
ReplyDeleteMary S
I am so on the ATG bandwagon. I've had mine for years and I can't craft without it!
ReplyDeleteMy ATG tape gun is the paper crafting tool I can't do without.
ReplyDeleteYep, ATG for me, too.
ReplyDeleteI can't live without my 3 x 14 inch acrylic ruler. I grab that thing for every project I'm working on. And oh, I love the Workbench project from this kit. It makes a great gift!
ReplyDeletemy craft mat - I am a mess worker - so it is essential for protecting my house!
ReplyDeleteSandra ltb
I'm jumping on the ATG bandwagon! I used to get so annoyed with other adhesives not sticking. Not a problem now!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely my ATG. With my tonic trimmer and CS 8" ruler as close seconds.
ReplyDeleteMy paper trimmer, use that for everything. It never gets put away.
ReplyDeleteProbably my Tonic trimmer, although my ATG gun is pretty close. (hollykoster)
ReplyDeleteI love my cuttle bug! Greetings from Belgium, Annelies
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tool is my paper trimmer.
ReplyDeleteMichelle R
ATG gun without a doubt!
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult to narrow it down to one! If I have to do that I'd say that my Tonic trimmer wins by a hair over my ATG.
ReplyDeleteBone folder. Awesome invention.
ReplyDeleteI have to have 2 - my Tonic trimmer and my CS acrylic ruler!
ReplyDeletePaper Trimer is a must for me - I like to be precise and balanced.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have a favorite. You take any one of them away from me and I would be lost.
ReplyDeleteNanner in Weston
My favorite would be my paper trimmer, but if it were taken away from me I could still craft.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tool right now is my kindle fire hd. I download all my Alsbs and put the pages together using it. So much easier than printing the pages.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tool is my paper trimmer followed by the atggun and Club Scrap's acrylic ruler. Don't leave home without those 3 necessities when scrapping.
ReplyDeleteMarian Biegel
Favorite? hmmmm... acrylic ruler, paper trimmer, and if extravagant my Cricut - can't function without the first two.
ReplyDeleteWorkbench is another favorite!!
ReplyDeleteGreat info Ron!! Workbench is another great one!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ron, btw the little project in the workbench kit was one of my faves!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteThank you Ron and I do love the new kit and changes that were made.
Gotta Love This Club!!!
I have 3 tools that I can't live without, I will look till I find them before I start anything.
Acrylic ruler with 0 center, ATg gun and paper trimmer!
Hands down my Tonic trimmer! And, Workbench is one of my faves~ used every scrap!! (hint...hint...) and now I have 3 grandsons!
ReplyDeleteATG - definately! Then paper trimmer & CS acrylic rulers!
ReplyDeleteMy most used tool is my paper trimmer, then my Tweezer Bee. Nancy Lundberg
ReplyDeleteMy fave are scissors. from the smallest for fussy cutting to large ones for cutting chipboard. The CS ruler isn't too far behind--Dottie
ReplyDeleteLove the Digi Kit updates! And I don't need to win, so draw another name if you get mine, but we were "gifted" the adorable project album for this kit with photos and it is still one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteBeth Moran
I could not craft without my flat bed trimmer.
ReplyDeleteCan't live without my tonic trimmer and my ATG gun. Also love my CS 2 x 8 inch ruler. Would love the workbench kit!
ReplyDeleteMy cant live without it tool is probably UNDU. I assembly line my layouts and when I want to change them up to match my phones I undo and redo the way I need. It makes assembly line scrapping MUCH easier.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tool is an 2 x 8 Club Scrap centering ruler. It is great!
ReplyDeletei am VERY SORRY to see this new format of the digi-kits -- i don't have TIME to open files and have to extract a specifid graphic or wordart from a sheet -- i scroll thru the folder in large thumbnail/icon views and do a control-select on the ones i want to use and drag them into PSE.
ReplyDeleteout of all the digi-SB kits out there, i've paid the higher price to get CS kits because of the digi-"stamps" (b-w graphics & wordart)... individual files... IF that's no longer available?... this new format means more work & more time to scrap -- that i don't have!! (i'm a "back-to-schooler"). PLEASE RECONSIDER and include the SEPARATE files per graphic/stamp/wordart, etc.... if this is a permanent new format, i won't be continuing my membership much longer.
btw, my current favorite tool (and most used) is the 3x14 CS ruler AND sheffield folding lockback utility knife - i bought the mini's for SB-ing and the large ones for gifts last year -- the large one (with the CS ruler) has been GREAT for cutting off the bindings of textbooks, to convert them to looseleaf :-)
My favorite tool is the We R Memory Envelope Bunch Board -- now I can readily make my own envelopes.
ReplyDeleteRegina Harris
Not sure its considered a TOOL....but I can't do without RIBBON.... use it on most every page and card I make.... I have a huge stash
ReplyDeleteWould be lost without my paper trimmer - keep it very handy !!!
ReplyDeletestamps, cutter, glue - all sorts..my my
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite to play with is my Cameo -- I can be so creative with it.... it can cut lines or designs ... it works wonderfully with CS papers cutting masses of square/rectangle shapes for acrds ....
Its nice to get a masculine kit now and then. They are hard to find. Keep up this fun competition.
ReplyDeleteCan't scrap without my Tonic trimmer! I can't use any other trimmer because I'm spoiled by the Tonic!
ReplyDeleteGuess I need to try the ATg tape and the tonic trimmer but my favorite tool would have to be alsb
ReplyDeleteMy acrylic rulers. I use them for everything! I even used them to make flash cards to study for the CPA exam - I needed a table. :)
ReplyDeleteI also love workbench. My husband is very handy & is always working on our house. This paper is perfect for his projects.
Gillis
I can't do with my tonic trimmer! I remember getting Workbench and thinking that I would never use it. But now it is all gone.
ReplyDeleteMy Tonic Large Base trimmer of course!
ReplyDeleteI recently got the Cutterpillar Pro cutter and I have to say I have never been so in love with a cutter. Also my Club Scrap acrylic rulers. Use them all the time!
ReplyDeleteHow can one chose just one favorite????? Gonna have to say my trimmer and adhesives because without them nothing would fit or stay together!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love my trimmer, tonic scissors and ATG glue gun. so, hard to pick just one.
ReplyDeleteMy Tonic trimmer is awesome, but ever since Tricia taught me about a bone folder…I can't seem to work without it!
ReplyDeleteMy can't live without tool is my new Cutterpillar Pro V3 trimmer.
