Welcome to the Gnome for the Holidays Blog Hop. When thinking about a project for today's hop, I knew I wanted to make something fun for the kids' tree. Each year we have two trees: one we decorate as a family with all of the heirloom ornaments, and a separate one for the kids to decorate with handmade items.
I've been having a lot of fun with the unmounted stamp and masking stencil set from this collection. I thought the cute little gnome stamp and gift stamp would create a fun garland for the tree. It was pretty easy to create. Here's what you do:
- Decide on a design. Stamp it onto a scrap, and cut around the image (leaving a generous white border) to create a template. Measure the width of the template.
- Score and accordion-fold white cardstock using the measurement above. Trace the template onto the accordion-folded piece, and cut along the traced lines. Repeat until you have reached the desired garland length when pieces are connected end to end.
- Finally, stamp the images onto the garland, and color images as using the Gnome for the Holidays masking stencil.
