Aspen Lite Kit Layouts

Good Monday morning, everyone!

The Aspen Lite kit ships today. Wait until you see the gorgeous ALSB (Assembly Line Scrapbooking) pages Tricia created!

Layouts 1 and 2.
I really love the way she chose to tear the papers mimicking the look of the carefully designed papers in this collection. It makes the papers look like snow-covered mountain tops!! So cool.

Layouts 3 and 4.
Tricia created an anchor for both sides of her layout by utilizing the delicate Aspen Stencil with Sandstone ink on plain paper. It adds that special touch and a woodsy flair. The wood grain embossing plate is a fun goodie included in the Lite kit. Embossing and inking the photo mattes adds so much texture to the pages, don't you think?

Layouts 5 and 6.
In this two page spread, Tricia accentuates the torn edges of the print on Page 5 by tucking the Pale Blue photo matte behind them. I just love the look of torn edges on a layout or card!

Layouts 7 and 8.
These final pages feature Tricia's clever use of leftover printed Almond Cutaparts flipped over to the plain side. I love getting more bang for my buck when it comes to my monthly kits. What a great tip!

Just for fun, I used the instructions to re-create Layout 1 and 2 using other papers and embellishments from my stash. Did you know that ALSB instructions are available to everyone, even if you're not a member? How cool is that?!! Here are my pages:

(2) Cruisin' 12x12 Plain Black (background), Time & Space Champagne print (torn), Perfect Ten Cutaparts and Purple sheer ribbon, Varsity 8.5x11 Tan Print (used plain side) trimmed for photo mats, Time & Space 8.5x11 Purple Print trimmed for photo mattes.

I hope you enjoyed taking this little tour of the Aspen Lite ALSB pages with me today. Have a great week!

Julie

  11. I WANT THIS KIT IT'S SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

Love the layouts...ALSB instructions are so helpful. They help me dig in and really get pages done instead of staring mesmerized at the beautiful papers and product, and not wanting to waste a single inch!
My other favorite thing about ALSB is the leftover paperscraps and embellishments. I like to challenge myself to use those bits for cards... and it really is fun and stretches my creativity when i'm forced to use what's in front of me.

  12. How does Club Scrap come up with so many different ideas for kits?! This month's Aspen kit is perfectly attuned to the current weather in Wisconsin. So much snow and cold so early in the season!! I'm very glad I'll have a kit to put together INSIDE the house tomorrow as the snow is supposed to come again tonight.

  20. Beautiful Aspen pages! Haven't had a chance to do anything but look at the lovely papers this month. What is it about December? Still have a little Fizz, but would love some more!

  21. I think I am going bankrupt in December - so far i am lusting after both senior and lite kits and will probably feel the same way about the stamp kit.

For those of you not familiar with Fizz - it was one of those kits that i had no idea how I was going to use it and then used every last morsel almost immediately.

  22. Oh my goodness I can't wait for the Lite kit! Especially for some great snow pics we now have!

  24. Just re-joined club scrap and am splitting the kit with a good friend, Dana, who was also a long-time club scrap member. We both had to stop our kits but now we are back and so excited. I remember the Fizz kit and echo what others have said that it was a great kit. Loved the color combos. Just opened our Aspen kit last night and am in love. Can work for both snow or ocean photos.
