September 2014 - Blueprints Collection

It's time to meet our Blueprints collection!

A Note from Tricia
If you haven't already noticed, we're working on the transition into our new look! This includes a fresh logo, an updated format in our shopping cart, a brand new gallery and forum, and a relocated blog. Soon, every area of the website will finally be under one roof at clubscrap.com. We can't wait to "move in!" Our projected website switchover will occur after the Lite shipment on the 15th. Please pardon our dust during the transition.

I'm happy to welcome a batch of new members who chose to join us at the Scrapbook Expo in Chicago. We have two more conventions in our near future--Somerset, NJ on September 12-13 and Minneapolis, MN on October 17-18. See you on the road!

What's Ahead?
Our October collection is derived from a combination of many member suggestions. Our team named it Homestead, and we're designing it with a warm color palette featuring a fun splash of color. Jacqueline has chosen a beautiful art style that will inspire your creativity!

Kit and Color Details
The fonts used this month include Draftsman Regular and pwscratchedfont. Use the RGB guide below as a launching point for the colors in your digital designs.

August 2014 - Cinema Collection

Today is the premier of our newest collection . . . Cinema!

A Note from Tricia
In full disclosure, we are literally obsessed with Retreat. It's always the first round in August that requires an exceptional level of focus from every team member. We're even dreaming about it! Our days are filled with wrapping gifts, double checking supply lists, loading pallets and placing final touches . . . all in the midst of shipping the Cinema collection. The loading dock has been a busy place, and it's fun to see the culmination of so much effort fall into place.

If you're not able to join us for the on-site Retreat, you won't want to miss the Retreat in a Box. It's a phenomenal way to enjoy workshops taught by the same instructors while you work at your own pace from home. Reserve your box today!

Meanwhile, the website team is working feverishly on our total renovation. We've checked in on the progress, and the updates are fantastic.

What's Ahead?
The Blueprints theme recommended by CS member Jodi Brewster is already in full swing. Jacqueline is putting finishing touches on artwork slightly reminiscent of a very popular collection from the distant past . . . Architecture (April, 2002). The color palette is warm and inviting, as it should be!

Kit and Color Details
It was impossible to settle on just one font for this versatile collection, but we narrowed it down to three common styles from the vintage movie era. We used Verve, Bebas Neue, and ArtBrush.

Tomorrow we'll take a closer look at the fourteen layouts and fifteen cards created with your new Cinema kit.

Enjoy the show!

July 2014 - Oopsie Daisy Collection

Another terrific kit leaves the warehouse today . . . Oopsie Daisy!

A Note from Tricia
Our member-led summer camp is in full swing in the Community and has been organized by Loree Karan, Ruth Ann Nielson and Pam Butler. Four fun cabins will focus on all crafting interests including pages, cards, projects and digital. Weekly challenges and prizes will be provided. We sincerely thank Loree, Ruth Ann and Pam for their help in keeping us all motivated throughout the summer. It's not too late to register! See you by the campfire . . .

Meanwhile at the mother ship in Neenah, retreat preparations are at peak levels. Brenda is finalizing the last of the purchasing, Deb is already packing gifts and collections, Jac is designing, Karen is working closely with the venue, Kay is taking photos, and I'm writing lots of instructions! Don't miss out on the rich offering of classes this year by taking one of the newly-available spots in August or by registering for the Retreat in a Box. Just $25 will reserve a box for you!

What's Ahead?
Celebrate a summer at the movies with a fun theme suggested by member Chris B. (buechs) -- Cinema. Our focus will be on vintage, classic cinema styles with a cool color palette featuring multiple paper textures.

June 2014 - Picnic Collection

We are happy to present our brand new Picnic collection, shipping tomorrow! (Oh, the agony of the first of the month falling on a weekend.)

A Note from Tricia
Happy anniversary to us! We are overjoyed to launch our 16th year of creating and shipping monthly kits. Let's see . . . that adds up to 181 collections, themes, color palettes, shipping days, etc. I am indebted to my incredible team of staff and contributors and to our enthusiastic, loyal members who have made it all possible. We are looking forward to serving up original collections for another fifteen years!

In honor of this milestone, we have a talented team working on some major updates to our website, chat forum, gallery and member involvement areas, as well as a fresh look/logo. A project of this magnitude will take a few more months to complete, but we know it will be worth the effort. Please take a moment to ensure that you have copies of any artwork posted in the galleria that you would like to keep.

What's Ahead?
Our theme for July's collection was born after the color palette was chosen. Our very own Brenda Nejedlo begged until she was blue in the face to get her Oopsie Daisy theme. (Our whole design team was pretty excited about it, but we didn't let on.) The shades consist of mellow neutrals and the cheerful artwork is going to make you smile. I wonder if we can get Brenda to make some cards.

Kit and Color Details

This month's font is BigelowRules-Regular. The intricate, whimsical detail of the theme pairs well with the bold, simplistic images in the kit.

Our design team used the following RGB numbers to create the collection. If you like making digital projects, here are your color profiles:

May 2014 - Dungarees Collection

Overall, we're quite thrilled with our newest arrival . . . Dungarees!

A Note from Tricia
It was on June 1, 1999 when we shipped the very first Club Scrap collection to 45 daring members. We are looking forward to celebrating our fifteenth anniversary with you and have some very special plans in the mix. Be sure to keep up with the latest festivities on the blog and join in the fun!

We had a blast at the Milwaukee Scrapbook Expo last weekend. We welcomed a group of new members into the fold while reuniting with some great gals who joined us last year. Nearly 100 students took our Efficient Scrapbooking workshops!

The monthly birthday swap for our June babies is in full swing. Join us and use your card stash to spread some birthday cheer to your fellow scrapping friends! And did you know it's National Scrapbooking Month? Stop in the Coffeehouse to see last year's daily challenge thread, and be sure to check the blog on Saturday for this year's challenge.

What's Ahead?

April 2014 - Hydrangeas Collection

The long-awaited Hydrangeas collection is leaving the warehouse today. Check out this beautiful color palette:

A Note from Tricia
We've barely caught our breath after returning from Columbus, and I'm heading "up North" on Thursday for scrapbooking camp at Fort Wilderness. Then, we're off to the Milwaukee Scrapbook Expo and the Great Lakes Mega Meet in Novi, MI. If you're thinking of signing up for a workshop, don't hesitate! I'm so happy to welcome our new members hailing from the Buckeye State!

I'd like to thank our long-time member, Staci Brightwell, for the inspiration behind this month's beautiful Hydrangeas collection. Jacqueline provided her downright magical design genius to the concept, and we were able to get our hands on some beautiful textured papers . . . an increasingly difficult task. So far, our team is having a blast "playing" with the kit. (It's a tough job, but someone has to do it.) I'm looking forward to seeing what you create with this beauty! Now, if we could just get spring to cooperate . . .

Congratulations to those of you completing eight weeks of Boot Camp and your efforts to finish those pages, cards and projects. We are eager to reveal the beautiful new collection we've created to celebrate this accomplishment! The kit will be released to Boot Camp participants on Sunday, and to all on Tuesday, April 8.

What's Ahead?
Denim and zippers and rivets, oh yeah! Next month's Dungarees collection is perfect for the boys and men in your life. And perfect if you like comfy jeans. And perfect if you have photos of people wearing jeans. In other words, it's going to be perfect! Look forward to deeply textured papers in warm, earthy colors.

March 2014 - Trees Collection

Wave hello to your new collection for March . . . Trees!

A Note from Tricia
I'm still basking in the post-expo glow following my return from Texas. I go through an interesting cycle of emotions that coincide with every scheduled show. Have we thought of everything and packed well? Will the materials ship and arrive on time? Will people register for our workshops or stop in at the booth? Will my flights run on schedule?

Par for the course, Delta called on Wednesday to let me know that my Thursday morning flight to Texas had been canceled, so I packed and left for the airport that evening. Fortunately, I arrived safely on Thursday morning along with all of the booth materials and my awesome helper for the weekend, Jane McAshan.

My favorite part of the whole experience is teaching our Efficient Scrapbooking workshops. The response from students is invigorating and affirming. The process completely changes the way people feel about their craft. They leave the classroom empowered, encouraged and inspired. And that is what it's all about. This works. It really works. And it brings me such joy to be able to help people approach their scrapbooking with confidence.

We are so happy to welcome our new Texas area members to the family. Our next stop is at the Columbus, Ohio, Memories Expo. Have we packed well? Will the booth supplies ship and arrive on time? Will my flights be on schedule? And so we begin again . . .

What's Ahead?
We're all beyond ready for the blossoms of springtime. Soon the Hydrangeas will be in full bloom. Prepare for fresh, clean colors and another great batch of specialty textures in this cheerful collection.

February 2014 - Big Deal Collection

Welcome to your new collection for February . . . Big Deal!

A Note From Tricia
With the first of the month unfortunately falling on a Saturday, your kits are prepped and ready to leave the warehouse on Monday morning. May they land on your doorsteps quickly!

Today is opening day for Boot Camp registration. We look forward to offering the inspiration and companionship needed to accomplish your crafting goals for 2014. My favorite part of this boot camp is that it doesn't require push ups, sit ups, or long morning runs. You'll just be sweating it out in your crafting space!

We're packing and gearing up for our first Scrapbook Expo in Grapevine, TX, on February 21-22. I'll be teaching a series of three Efficient Scrapbooking workshops and look forward to meeting up with several members at the show. Be prepared to welcome some newbies to the fold!

With the migration of monthly membership processing to the shopping cart completed, we continue to work on a few of the challenges created by our unique business model. (With-kit orders, membership add-ons and amendments are apparently not typical in most monthly clubs.) Phase three of our website maintenance is about to begin. This includes an overhaul of the Community Forum, revisions to the "Join" landing page, and a major update to our Gallery. These improvements are absolutely critical as the current software is no longer supported after serving us well for the past decade. Please pardon our dust during the remodel.

What's Ahead?
With winter's fierce grip on the nation, we're beyond ready for signs of spring. We plan to celebrate the upcoming budding season with a theme suggested by member Jodi B.--Trees. With the neutral tones and images of the collection, subtle textures of the paper, and the handmade specialty stock we've ordered, you'll want to build a nest for this kit!

January 2014 - Graffiti Collection

Welcome to your new collection for January . . . Graffiti!

A Note from Tricia
2014 promises to be an exciting year as we will be hitting the road for another expo tour! We'll be teaching our popular "Efficient Scrapbooking" workshops and hosting a full booth at shows within a drivable distance. (We are still trying to decide when a distance is "drivable.") You can view our show schedule in the new calendar on the sidebar of the blog. Locations include Texas, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, Virginia, Illinois and Minnesota. See you on the road!

Thank you so much for your patience and support as we've implemented several new changes during recent months. There will certainly be a time of transition as we become more comfortable with the new membership processing work flow. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need some guidance along the way.

What's Ahead?
The theme for February was inspired by a collaborative effort of the CS Design Team as well as suggestions from several members. A collection of warm tones is central to our Big Deal theme where we will celebrate the history of family game night by featuring vintage game boards and playing cards. We are also including four unique paper textures!
