Clock Tower Workshop

It's Friday already! And it's been such a fun week of visiting the Club Scrap Retreat Workshops.

Along with it all, I've had a blast creating and instructing the Clock Tower Workshop at this years retreat, so as a follow up from last Friday's Blog, today I'm posting more about the decorating I did on many of them.

I enjoyed adorning the Large/Tall option of the tower in several different ways. On many, the first thing I did was rub acrylic paint onto the outside of the project to add color. I used the baby wipe technique as shown in this previous blog. It works like a charm!

From left to right:

Use same color acrylic paint & Club Scrap stencils to add interest .

Create a Grandfather Clock look by cutting away a 1-1/2" x 6-3/4" section from the front matte board wall. Use the two support pieces already included in the kit to serve as shelves. Fill up with fun miniature items.

Move the clock location by punching a new hole, and have the clock face serve as an "O" in the word LOVE, or you could use JOY on the shorter kit version.

Above are a couple of the medium sized clock towers that we did in class, simply rub paint onto the exterior and completely change the look!

Don't forget that the clock faces on that innovative cutapart sheet are alterable. I added a little ink for an aged look and rubber stamped on the one shown above.

This is a favorite of mine . . . an altered clock tower project. I used the small clock tower and cut a nook into an old dictionary for a drawer. The old dictionary, now complete with pull drawer, makes a cute base for the Clock Tower.

The nook cut away to make room for a pull drawer.
The drawer I made to fit inside.
As always, I'm hoping you enjoy this project as much as I do!

I feel it's:
Happy project assemblage this weekend. I hope you have a great TIME!

Retreat: Workshops, Gifts and Goodies Galore!

Betcha thought I was gonna let the cat out of the bag, right? Retreat in a Box 2013 (RIAB) ships tomorrow, so I can't quite share what we made this year . . . YET. Instead, I thought I'd take this opportunity to share a few of the Retreat Workshop projects and goodies from 2012.

Tricia's Oil Pastel Workshop

Jac's Letters on the Wall Project

Beaded Canvas Project

Kay's Altered Panel Workshop
Not only do we teach awesome workshops at each Retreat, we offer amazing gifts and goodies, too! Each Workshop, along with all of the gifts and goodies are shipped with the Retreat in a Box option. It's the next best thing to being there!

Retreat By the Numbers Kit

2012 Retreaters and RIABers received a gift of 6 new ink colors!
By the Numbers Digital Hybrid Workshop

And there's so much more included that I haven't shown you. If you like what you see above, you'll want to grab your 2012 Retreat in a Box right away...there are only a few 2012 RIABs left.
If you like surprises, and would love to receive a generous box containing eight fantastic Workshops, gifts, goodies and more, then jump online and order up a 2013 Retreat in a Box, available in VERY limited quantities. I can't show you the contents just yet, but I promise you'll love it!

Even better, plan a vacation to beautiful Wisconsin and join us for one of the two 2014 Club Scrap Retreat dates. Registration will begin soon, so watch for the E-news announcement. Not on the Club Scrap email list? Um, yeah, I highly recommend you sign up now so you don't miss a thing!

Creatively yours,
Karen

WOW, What A Project!

Greetings Club Scrap Creates Bloggers!
It's a chilly 39 degrees here in Greenville, Wi. but I'm still thinking about our WOW Spring 2013 Collection! If fact I'm keeping warm by decorating my Photo Easel Components project here.

The complete Photo Easel Project is included in the big box of awesome "stuff" that comes with the WOW Spring Collection, here it is made-up with the included  papers & photo mattes etc....

...and it's also available as a Components Only paperless kit (at a really good deal I must add).

I used an old road map to cover this Photo Easel.

Since the nook (that gets cut from the easel pages) allows for something dimensional, I Glue-Lined this compass into that location on one side.

On the other side, I made a little shadow box by cutting the 2x2 included matte board into 1/2" strips.

Then glued them onto my easel in the proper location and covered with more road map scraps.

Then the photos came out and I got the pages put together. I plan to use this Photo Easel for trips & travel we've done, hey - I'll put a trip to the grocery store on my Photo Easel if I happen to have a cute snapshot from the day LOL.

I'll really enjoy having this project sitting on the desk where friends and family can easily page through.

As always, thanks for stopping by Club Scrap Creates!

Retreat Spoiler (of sorts)

Hello, everyone!

I know I chatted about Retreat in the blog a few weeks ago and told you about my favorite things about Retreat and some of you shared your favorite things in the comments, too. But today I wanted to share something new, so I spoke with Tricia earlier this week and she told me I could share some info about Retreat with all of you.

As you know, Club Scrap has an August and an October Retreat, and this year I'll be attending both of them! (I'm so very excited about meeting all of the August Retreat folks!! ) I'll be teaching the Hybrid Workshop at both Retreats (I've taught it at the October Retreat for the past two years) and I'll also be teaching another Workshop with Tricia! How cool is that? (It's gonna be a super-cool Workshop too! Really different and so very creative! You're gonna love it!!!) And after chatting with Jac the other day, I really think the Hybrid Workshop is gonna rock, too! Remember, it's not 'digital' it's 'hybrid' so paper crafters are really going to love it!

Retreat folks having some Workshop fun in 2011!

Now you probably saw your email reminder from Club Scrap this week letting you know that you've only got until July 1st to sign up for Retreat. If you're 'on the fence' about attending this year, I gotta tell you - it's gonna be amazing, so head on over to the sign-up page and register for Retreat now!
